Financial Assistance

CCNM students may be able to take advantage of federal, provincial and/or U.S. federal student loan programs.
Private and professional school loans may also be available through your financial institution. CCNM also offers a limited number of bursaries as a result of the generosity of its donors.

Canadian Students
Canadian and Provincial Assistance
Canadian students enrolled in the naturopathic medicine program may be eligible for assistance under one or more of the following programs:
  • Canada Student Financial Assistance Program (CSFA)
  • Student loan program in your province of residence
A student may only apply from the province of residence in which he or she has most recently lived for at least 12 consecutive months. Quebec does not include the naturopathic medicine program at CCNM as eligible for government loans.
To qualify for a full-time loan, a minimum of 60% course load is required (40% for students with a permanent disability, or persistent or prolonged disability*). Students with a course load between 20% and 59% may apply for a part-time loan.
*Please note that CCNM does not determine disability status. Students are required to obtain approved disability status from their provincial loan lender.
Students receiving a student loan must be aware of their responsibility to maintain eligibility and be in good standing with their loan provider.

Continuation of Interest-Free Status
Students who remain full-time throughout their studies maintain interest-free status of their student loans. If you are continuing in studies but are no longer receiving student loans, interest may accrue on your loan and you may be required to make payments on your student loan.

Exit Information
Students have six months after completing their studies before interest accrual and loan repayment starts.
Students who are on an approved leave of absence may be subject to loan repayment.

CCNM is the only naturopathic school in Canada approved to administer financial aid, such as Direct Unsubsidized Loans to U.S. students. Please follow the directions below and contact Student Services at info@ccnm.edu to request your 鈥淗ow to Apply鈥 instructions for additional steps.
Application Process
  • Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to have your Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) available to the school online. Please be reminded that CCNM is considered a foreign school, and you must choose 鈥渇oreign country鈥 under 鈥渟tate.鈥
    Please Note: It is recommended that U.S. students begin the application process no later than July 15 to ensure funding is available to them by September 1 (for fall semester) or October 15 to ensure funding is available to them by January 1 (for winter semester).
  • Sign your online Master Promissory Note (MPN).
  • Complete your Entrance Counselling online. This is a requirement for any student using direct loans.

Information Required from Students
  • Submit the program information sheet to CCNM, as well as the cost of attending form.
  • Married students must submit a detailed budget for themselves and family for the study period.
  • Photocopies of your previous income tax returns (IRS forms 1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ) may be required later. The information will be used to verify the income figures entered on your FAFSA.
  • Spousal income tax returns are required if the applicant is married, or in a common-law relationship according to the student鈥檚 original state of residence.
U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs
The CCNM 鈥 Toronto Campus is approved by the . U.S. veterans, their dependents, and/or their spouses attending CCNM may be eligible for educational benefits through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
